You know, today I said good-bye to a friend. I never thought that separating from a person that I had never seen in person so hard could be so difficult but I found it heartbreaking none the less.

I considered this person a very close friend of mine; we talked on the phone, messengered and sometimes just goofed off. I know a lot about him and he knows a lot about me and I am not usually that free with information about myself, I’d much rather get to know others.

Recently, my friend was put in a position where he had to make some choices in life. The choices he made were beneficial to him and I am so proud of him that it’s crazy, however, the circumstances and the execution of those choices left a lot to be desired. They left me to feel as if the friendship meant a lot more to me and was very disposable to him. That hurt but life is what it is and no one said it was fair. You suck it up you move on and forgive, that helps you to sleep at night.

We toss that word “friend” around pretty loosely but there are a few things about “friends” that people tend to forget.

A true friend will not make you feel guilty about your choices. They may not agree with them but even then they will not judge you nor make you feel as if you should have done something else.

Secondly, when you think you are on top of your game, surrounded by “friends”, always remember who was around when nobody knew your name but luved yah for just being you.

When you’re in a fight….lol, remember those who took one for you….not the one’s who pointed and reminded you how much that blow hurt or how fucked up your opponent is. You know, they are always sorry for not having you back.

Last but not least…….your real friends will luv yah even when they felt like they had to say g-bye……it’s just that sometimes, some things are for the best.
